The debut album from synthwave-metal pioneers Young Medicine is available for the first time on vinyl. The album puts the group's unmistakable blend of pop, metal, and retro synths on full display across 13 electrifying entries. From the Eastern flavor of "Shinju" to the thumping energy of "Living Fiction" and the rapid fire percussion of "Not Human," Interlinked scratches the itch that mainline genre creations just won’t reach. This is pop-metal fully imagined in a synthwave vein and structured with a progressive songwriting style for a groundbreaking, must-hear creation.

lyrics
It's a situation I have seen
Watching your heartstrings
Pull themselves apart a thousand times
But no form of apology
Could ever give you relief
So I'll keep my lips in line
A most unfulfilled machine
Both of us are running down keeping up forged honesty
Never knowing one another at all
Not a single novelty
Automated all our notions we make ourselves believe
Never knowing one another at all
Aren't we the best of liars
Desiring the truth, you were better off alone
Aren't we the best of liars
Designing the truth, I was better off alone
Every mirror shattering
Both of us are wanting more in every life we’ve tried to lead
Never knowing one another at all
Endings justify the means
Fabricated our devotion to make them all believe
Never knowing one another at all
Screaming this is who I really am
It tastes better than truth
So don’t you know who I think I am, I am, I am, I am
Aren't we the best of liars
Desiring the truth, you were better off alone
Aren't we the best of liars
Designing the truth, I was better off alone
Never knowing one another at all
Never knowing one another at all
Never knowing one another at all
It's a situation I have seen
Watching your heartstrings
Pull themselves apart a thousand times
But no form of apology
Could ever give you relief
So I'll keep my lips in line
Screaming this is who I really am
It tastes better than truth
So don’t you know who I think I am, I am, I am, I am
Screaming this is who I really am
It tastes better than truth
So don’t you know who I think I am, I am, I am, I am

A powerhouse of a record from the Michigan metalcore stalwarts, full of sinister, stadium-sized singalongs and unbridled emotion. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 31, 2022
I don't know what it is, but in DWTD's discography this record really stands out to me. Picking a favourite track is difficult because all of the songs sound incredible to me, but POISON is probably the most fresh and energetic song in my opinion. zWarhead
